Senator Merv Riepe is an independent, results-driven leader focused on pragmatic solutions that put Nebraskans first. He works every day to lower costs for families, strengthen public safety, expand economic opportunity, and ensure Nebraska remains a place where people of all ages can put down roots and thrive.

• Served in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman
• Worked as a senior administrator at Bergan Mercy Hospital, Children’s Hospital and Medical Center, and Lutheran Medical Center for 36 years
• Serves as the Nebraska State Senator for District 12, including tenure as the Chairman of the Business and Labor Committee, since elected in 2022.  Previously served from 2014-2018, where he was Chairman of the Health & Human Services Committee.
• Elected to the Ralston Board of Education in 2020
• Past board member of the Mid-America Council on Scouts, Omaha Symphony Advisory Board, Outlook Nebraska (chair), United Way of the Midlands, Nebraska Wesleyan University (president’s advisory board), Children’s’ Square USA (Council Bluffs), and the Combined Health Agencies Drive (CHAD)
